The school nurse, according to the West Morris Regional High School District standing orders, may administer designated Over-The-Counter (OTC) medications during school hours. For the students' convenience, we stock regular-strength Tylenol (Acetaminophen), Advil (Ibuprofen), Benadryl (Dipenhydramine) and Tums (Calcium Carbonate Antacid). 

All PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION must be accompanied by written permission from both a parent/guardian and physician. There are separate forms for prescription medication, self-administration of inhalers, and self-administration of epinephrine auto-injectors. 

Prescription medication shall be brought to the school by the parent/guardian unless other arrangements have been made with the nurse. It must be in the original prescription container, labeled with the name of the student, medication, dosage and name of the physician. All medication is to be taken home by the parent when it is no longer needed or at the end of the school year.

The West Morris Regional Board of Education forbids any student from carrying any medication (OTC or prescription) without the knowledge and consent of the administration and school nurse. Medication includes all medicines prescribed by a physician including emergency medications, such as inhalers, epinephrine auto-injectors and all non-prescription OTC medication.

Need to submit a recent immunization record from their doctor prior to the first day of school.
Submit a recent physical to the nurse if not playing a Fall sport prior to the end of September.

Any student wishing to participate in a sport must submit a hard copy of a current physical to the health office. If the physical was performed 90 days prior to the start of the sport, a health update must also be submitted.   The required health office forms are located at the bottom of this webpage.  For all other required forms, please go to the Athletics homepage.  Playing one sport does not guarantee eligibility for the next sport.  Please see the nurses before the registration deadline to determine what is needed to be cleared.

The school doctor is available every other week throughout the school year for sports physicals and working papers. 

All students should check with the nurses to determine what paperwork is needed, and to obtain sports forms for physicals.  Appointments will not be made over the phone as pre-physicals must be completed before being scheduled to see the school doctor. Physical times and locations will be based on interest expressed, and may be offered in one location. 

Any student who is out of gym due to injury must be cleared by their physician and return to gym before they can participate in a sport.
